Sometimes worship is painful

Obedience is not a ‘roll-your-eyes, I’m-only-doing-this-because-I-have-to’ compliance.

It’s an ‘I-can’t-believe-you-made-and-died-for-me, I’m-humbled-to-the-point-of-joy’ conviction.

Look at the word obedience. Does anything look familiar?

Obed was the son of Ruth and Boaz…

The father of Jesse…

The grandfather of David…

The bloodline of Jesus.

In Hebrew, Obed means worshiper.

True worship is obedience.

Which means Christ’s greatest act of worship was on the cross.

Sometimes worship is painful.

The question is: Are you willing to worship God even when it hurts?
